Once the extremely solid lizard econ is online they can hand over any fluff to the WE. Lizards can rely on a single military structure (saurus) and growth/income buildings to pump out a phenomenal amount of money transitioning into midgame. Early game the Wood Elves raze bases for obscene gold income, donating it all generously to the lizards. Lizards pair extremely well with early high earners like the Wood Elves. Itza - very solid choice, but not necessarily for the reasons you've outlined. This alone should disqualify him from the list. I understand from the comments that you've geared the article toward normal difficulty, which I would say any pairing would do fine on with common sense play, but for players who choose to play on very hard or legendary difficulties I think this list misses the mark:
